Editorial: Teacher-student statute needs careful look
A ruling this week from the Georgia Supreme Court demands attention from the Georgia General Assembly when it convenes in January. But lawmakers must be sure any attention they give the law at issue - which the 5-2 court ruling construed to mean, disturbingly enough, that there are circumstances under which sex between a teacher and student can arguably be consensual - is both thoughtful and careful.
